● Follow on facebookIndia’s first ska band, The Ska Vengers were formed in 2009 and have since been touted as one of the most fun Indian indie acts to watch. Their sound is an organic melange of ska, rocksteady, reggae, dub, jazz and punk with some Cuban and Latin influences thrown in. Known for introducing socially relevant themes in their songs, they released an animated video titled “A message to you, Modi” in 2014 at the same time that India voted the ruling party BJP into power and their last video ‘Badda’ talks about censorship and manipulation of the Indian news media.
